It’s Sausage Day at Pete’s Pantry

Terry is the Sausage King at Pete’s Pantry.

Donations are the lifeblood of the service with a smile at Pete’s Pantry. Fr Andrew volunteers on the third Wednesday of the month but rarely touches anything other than the keyboard of the laptop at the registration desk… a great space to meet every client btw.

Terry and the other volunteers are very hands on sorting food and other donations. Sausages for example need to go into smaller packs to be frozen before distribution. Likewise preparation of things like bulk cereals and a vast array of pies and baked goods for freezing happen each day. Just this week 47 people attended the free Monday Breakfast and on Wednesday around 30 or so folk were assisted with food packages. Mondays and Fridays tend to see higher numbers as folk deal with the difficulties of the weekend.

Have a chat to Fr Andrew about volunteer opportunities.
