Hope from the Ashes!
Ash Wednesday starts with a fire of love
All thanks to our own Helen Collins who passed on the Palm Crosses she has collected over years of Palm Sundays. Fr Andrew was able to release his inner pyromaniac and burn these beautiful tokens of faithfulness and their poignant reminder of how we can turn from acclamation to accusation so quickly.
It was beautiful to gather with Helen and 20 or so folk from St Paul’s and E M Tooth residents for our Ash Wednesday Service and offer our hopes and fears for healing… with Cyclone Alfred looming! Many thanks to Lifestyle Coordinator Elizabeth who encouraged residents to come and for the list of folk Fr Andrew was able to visit with ashes in their rooms. A chance to make some new friends in prayer.
